The WWI Mk I Tank Gold-plated Coin

  • £40.00

100 years ago this year, tanks went to war for the first time...

This year sees the 100th anniversary of the first combat tank. In honour of this, a newMark I Tank Gold-Plated Coin has been issued.

The coin features an illustration of the iconic Mark I WWI tank that was used at Flers Courcelette on 15 September 1916. The full colour painting has been specially commissioned for this issue and expertly drawn by ex-tank Commander and artist Malcolm Cleverley. The relief areas of the coin represent the tank tracks and the tank model.

Expertly plated in 24-carat gold and polished to a pristine proof finish, the coin's obverse carries the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of the Queen that is used on all modern British coinage.

The 100th anniversary of the world’s first combat tank is a milestone in military history many will choose to commemorate. During this centenary year, interest for WWI commemoratives will be at peak levels, especially those relating to the Battle of the Somme

Demand for this new coin is expected to be high - secure yours today.
