The flagship 'Masterpiece' specification has been issued to mark Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee.

Struck from Pure Silver to the highest possible finish

Your coin has been struck from five ounces of 999 Pure Silver and features a beautiful proof finish — the highest quality of finish — which is reserved only for collector coins. Creating the mirror-like finish requires immense craftsmanship. The dies that strike the coin are painstakingly hand finished to sharpen the design and remove any imperfections.

The overall design for the coin was inspired by the Queen Victoria Monument in London. The designer Neil Bromley also took inspiration from some of the original drawings by Thomas Brock and old photographs.

The coin design was created separately and took into account the directions of the images that related to the Latin text in each segment. This was discussed and agreed upon by several medieval historians and calligraphers.
