The coins that were never struck at the Royal Mint…

In 1911 the National Insurance Act created an unusually large demand for bronze and silver coins. As a result, in 1912, the Royal Mint had to subcontract The Heaton Mint in Birmingham to strike British pennies in order to satisfy demand.

Only FIVE 20th century British Pennies were struck at Mints other than the Royal Mint London.

Ralph Heaton & Sons of Birmingham struck pennies dated 1912, 1918 and 1919. These coins carry the ‘H’ mint mark to the left of the date on the reverse to denote its origins. The King's Norton Metal Co. Ltd of Birmingham were also contracted to strike pennies, dated 1918 and 1919, and these show a small mint mark "KN" to the left of the date on the reverse.

Now you have an exciting and rare opportunity to own a set which contains the five pennies what were never struck by the Royal Mint

This set contains all five of the "H" and "KN" mint mark pennies.

These pennies are not like any others, The Royal Mint can produce almost five billion coins a year, but these coins, that you can own today, were struck elsewhere. Rare and unusual coins like these are always highly sought after by collectors.
