This year's special, one-year-only £5 piedfort coin has been produced in partnership and fully approved by the Royal British Legion (RBL).

Each year, we see quick sell-outs of the RBL Poppy® Coins, with the Piedfort being a firm collector’s favourite.

Struck from Pure Silver to a Proof Finish, this special Piedfort edition contains double the silver of a standard Silver Proof £5 coin, offering a substantial and impressive weight revered by collectors.

What's more, only 500 Silver Piedfort Poppy coins are being made available – that is half the edition limit of the standard 2024 RBL Poppy Silver £5.

The coin powerfully portrays a single veteran on Normandy Beach, depicted in both June 1944 and June 2024. On the left, the young soldier stands in his World War II uniform amidst the invasion's chaos, with landing craft visible in the distance. On the right, the same man, now 80 years older, returns to the peaceful, war-free sands.

This striking contrast captures the passage of time and the lasting impact of D-Day. At the coin's centre, a Royal British Legion poppy symbolises remembrance and honours those who sacrificed their lives.
