2016 Britannia Fortieth-Ounce Gold Proof Coin
The UK's smallest ever coin
The best way to imagine this coin is to pick up a pencil...
Its diameter is roughly the same as the UK's new Gold Coin.
At just 8mm, the one-fortieth of an ounce Britannia Gold Coin is the smallest UK coin ever struck.
Yet incredibly the Royal Mint has still been able to achieve their full exquisite proof quality, meaning that every detail of Britannia is captured in perfect detail. And to give it real value, the coin has been struck from fine 999.9/1000 24 Carat Gold
Just 2,250 coins will ever be struck and we have currently only been able to secure 100 pieces for collectors, which are available at the official Royal Mint price of just £75.
