The Ernest Shackleton Silver £2 coins issued by Jersey in 2021 are each struck from .925 Silver to a stunning Proof finish, with selective 24 Carat Gold-plate and colour print.

The reverse of each coin has an image of Shackleton in selective colour print, truly bringing the coins to life. The background of each coin features iconic imagery from each of Shackleton’s expeditions; the Nimrod Expedition, the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, and the Shackleton-Rowett Expedition.

Officially Postmarked by Royal Mail

Paired alongside these coins, is Royal Mail’s Wreck of the Endurance stamp. Issued in 2003, these stamps were not easy to get hold of!

The stamp has been officially postmarked by Royal Mail with a special cancellation marking the 100^th anniversary of the date Shackleton departed on his final voyage — 17^th September 2021.
