EIC 2022 The Gothic Crown 2oz Silver Proof Coin
A new Victorian masterpiece from the East India Company
In 1847, William Wyon created a coin for Queen Victoria called the Gothic Crown. It would later go on to become one of the most collectable and coveted coins struck in the Victorian era. In fact, only 8,000 of the originals were ever issued and these days they can sell for tens of thousands of pounds on the secondary market!
The East India Company’s reinterpretation
But now, the East India Company have released their own reinterpretation of Wyon’s classic Royal Arms masterpiece, and is available for Westminster Collectors.
The coin features the same medieval-inspired design from the original, with the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom surrounding the arms of the Order of the Garter.
Struck from 2oz Silver
Each coin has been struck from 2oz of .925 silver, and has been finished with the collector’s favourite Proof finish. Proof coins are in high demand among collectors, due to the craftmanship needed to produce each coin.
And as such, they often have much smaller edition limits.
LIMTIED NUMBER AVAILABLE: ACT TODAY
This release has been strictly limited to just 1,500, of which only 20 are available for Westminster International Collectors.
When the East India Company released their reinterpretation of Victoria’s portrait on a 2oz silver last year, all 4,000 sold out within minutes. Therefore, we’re expecting the same high demand for this latest piece.
