In celebration of the historic feat made by Dr John Macleod, Sir Frederick Banting, Dr Charles Best and Dr James Collip, this is the first time that the discovery of insulin has been commemorated on a UK coin!

Designer Iris De La Torre depicts the discovery of insulin with a design that includes its molecular formula and structure, putting the research that has helped millions of diabetics worldwide at the heart of the coin.

This coin has been struck to Brilliant Uncirculated quality, so your coin will arrive free of any of the marks and scratches usually found on circulating coinage.
