The Tutankhamun Treasures Silver Proof Set
Waiting to be discovered... The Tutankhamun Treasures Silver Proof 50p Set
** LIMITED STOCK REMAINING **
To mark the centenary of the opening of Tutankhamun's Tomb, FIVE NEW 50ps were authorised for release.
But the long journey these coins have taken to be issued has created a special collecting quirk - each Silver Proof 50p in this collection has ended up with THREE DISTINCT DATES! Here’s why:
- The coins were approved by Queen Elizabeth II in 2022
- They were re-approved by King Charles III in 2023
- The reverse design features the year of Tutankhamun's discovery - 1922
The coins that nearly didn't exist...
These coins were very nearly lost in time as Her Late Majesty's sad passing meant the coins needed to be resubmitted for official approval in late 2022.
Fortunately, these were approved by Buckingham Palace once again - and they would become the FIRST 50ps to feature Glyn Davies' never-before-seen King Charles III effigy!
But with a strict edition limit of JUST 795 authorised, collectors are going to miss out on these highly collectable sets.
Sterling Silver with 24 Carat Gold-plating
Each coin in your set has been struck from Sterling Silver to a pristine Proof finish with the addition of 24 Carat Gold-plating to bring each of Joe Cummings' carefully curated designs to life.
The set features FIVE iconic designs representing artefacts and treasures found within Tutankhamun's Tomb in 1922, including: the famous Death Mask, Anubis Shrine, the Name Pendent, a Corselet and a model of the torso of Tutankhamun.
What's more, each set arrives protectively housed in a Deluxe Presentation Box, meaning your Silver Proof 50ps can be safely stored and displayed for years to come.
